Hey everyone. I'm genuinely scared to even post this.
My C: drive is at 95% full, and Windows is screaming at me about low disk space every 5 minutes. I need to shrink D: and extend C: but I have no idea which tool to use, and I'm completely paralyzed.
My setup:
Windows 11, single 1TB NVMe SSD
C: is 250GB (nearly full), D: is 700GB (plenty of free space)
Tried Disk Management → right-click C: → "Extend Volume" is greyed out. Cool cool cool.
Never touched DiskPart, command line stuff freaks me out
Seen ads for AOMEI, EaseUS, MiniTool etc. but installing random partition software feels risky
My cousin told me he "lost everything" doing a partition resize once and I haven't been the same since
I've got years of family photos and work documents on this drive. I DO have a backup but it's from like 3 months ago.
Please just tell me what to use. I'm not doing anything fancy - just need to move some space from D: to C:. I'd rather get roasted for a dumb question than destroy my data trying to be brave.
