I'm typing this on my phone because I'm too scared to touch my PC.
I was using a partition tool to shrink my D: drive and extend C: (I know, I know, another person doing this). Everything was going fine, progress bar was moving along, and then it hit 67% and just... stopped. It's been stuck there for over 2 hours now. The window says "(Not Responding)" at the top.
I have NO IDEA what to do. My instinct is to close the program but everything I've read says "never interrupt a partition operation." But it's clearly not doing anything - or is it? How do I even tell?
Some details:
Windows 11, 1TB NVMe SSD, two partitions (C: 250GB almost full, D: 700GB)
The tool was in the middle of moving data from D: to make room for C:
I DID make a backup right before starting (so it should be current, at least)
I can't see the taskbar because the tool went fullscreen on its own and I can't minimize it
I can still move my mouse but clicking on the tool window does nothing
My SSD light... I can't tell if it's blinking or not because it's an NVMe drive and I don't think it has a visible activity LED?
I'm freaking out. Please tell me what to do. Do I wait? Do I force close? Am I about to lose everything?
