C drive full (OS), D drive empty (separate disk), can’t install Nvidia drivers.

I’m trying to download the latest Nvidia drivers, but the installer doesn’t seem to let me choose which drive to use. It always tries to download directly to my C: drive (OS), fails, and says there’s not enough space.

The problem is that the C: has 116 GB used of a total 118 GB. My D: drive, however, has 670 GB free of a total 931.51 GB. Each drive is on separate disks (Disk 0 and Disk 1). Since they’re not the same drive, I can’t just shrink D: and extend C: into that freed space.

Is there a known trick to force the Nvidia installer to use a different drive for its temporary download folder? Or any other safe ways to free up ~5–10 GB on C: without uninstalling critical software?

MrsR_1980 Your situation is a classic case of your system partition being too small.
Since the C drive and D drive are on two separate physical disks, you can't use the free space on D to extend C, unless you convert them to dynamic disks. Or, I recommend:
Short term: Grab a disk cleanup tool to scan your C drive, and free up 5-10GB. That'll be plenty for the driver install.

Long term: Honestly, 118GB for a system drive is just too tight these days. If you can budget for it, swap that C drive for a 500GB or 1TB SSD. You'll get more space and better performance across the board.
