PLEASE HELP!! USB drive says 0 bytes free but it's completely empty?!

Okay, I am officially panicking. I have my graduation thesis and literally 4 years of college design projects on this 64GB SanDisk drive. I plugged it in today to copy a file, and Windows explorer says "0 bytes free out of 58.5 GB".

BUT WHEN I OPEN THE DRIVE, IT'S COMPLETELY EMPTY. "This folder is empty."

I didn't delete anything, I didn't format it. I tried plugging it into my roommate's laptop and it's the exact same thing. Space is taken up, but no files. Please tell me my data isn't gone forever. I will actually cry. Help me step-by-step, I'm not a tech person at all!!
