reso Take a deep breath, OP. Your data is almost certainly still there. This is a classic symptom of either a hidden file attribute issue (often caused by a minor malware script) or a corrupted file system table.
Let's try the easiest, most common fix first (the "unhide" trick):
Open File Explorer, click on View at the top.
Click Options -> Change folder and search options.
Go to the View tab.
Select "Show hidden files, folders, and drives".
Uncheck "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)" (Windows will warn you, just click Yes).
Hit Apply.
Check your USB drive now. Do you see a faded folder or a random .lnk shortcut?
