Alex98 Calm down, we can probably get this back. Since chkdsk failed you (which it always does with RAW drives, don't worry), your first step is image creation if you can, but assuming you don't have a spare drive, let's look at partition repair.
Download a free tool called TestDisk. It's a command-line interface, but don't let that scare you.
- Run it as Admin, select your USB drive.
- Choose the partition table type (usually Intel or EFI GPT).
- Go to Analyse and then Quick Search.
If it finds your old partition, you can actually preview your files right there by pressing "P". If you see your thesis, copy it out immediately to your local C: drive. If the partition looks good, you can write the partition table back to the USB, and boom, it's back to normal. Try this first and report back.
